Find Brush Converters on the Converters Page
If you think you can build anything with the 2D shape editor, I dare you to build
one of these with it. Build your own wacky brushes based on the five (count 'em FIVE) Platonic solids: Tetrahedron,
Cube, Octahedron, Dodecahedron, Icosahedron. What good are they? Hey, you're the hot-shot mapper, you
come up with something. Some shown below. Umod file installs right to UEd2 for instant use. Right-click on the
button to set options like shape, size, etc. Right-click on the button to set options like shape, size, etc.

These are Zip files containing a total of 124 'regular polyhedra', in Unreal brush format. I was in need of a decent sphere, and the ones generated by UnrealEd look more like Christmas Tree ornaments. Some of these are very close to spheres. Others are quite spectacular star-bursts and prismatic shapes. (Note: these were generated originally by some math program, and imported into Unreal. The Platonic Builder Brush can build some of these shapes and is interactive, but there are many more complex shapes in these zip files).
A Small Sampling
Notes:
In the Unreal Editor, use the Brush menu, Import, and then select the brush name.
I did not make these names up, apparently they are the real geometric names.
You would not believe how hard it is to find anything like this on the internet.
Some of the larger brushes may not BSP-Add properly. This seems to be an editor bug. If you Add them as Solid, you may see BSP holes. Try adding them as semi-solids instead. The vast majority of the brushes add with no problems at all.
Thanks to http://elib.zib.de/netlib/polyhedra/ for many of these geometric definitions. Shame on them, though, for not supplying solid definitions for such things as the elusive 'soccer ball' shape, the ever popular truncated icosahedron. I modified their program to output Unreal brushes. If you want it, email me.
