Mods You Can Use

(If you plan to use any of these ideas, at least credit me with inspiration, original concept, whatever).

Platonic Solids Brush Builder

If you think you can build anything with the 2D shape editor, I dare you to build one of these with it. Build your own wacky brushes based on the five (count 'em FIVE) Platonic solids: Tetrahedron, Cube, Octahedron, Dodecahedron, Icosahedron. What good are they? Hey, you're the hot-shot mapper, you come up with something. Some examples here. Umod file installs right to UEd2 for instant use. Right-click on the button to set options like shape, size, etc.

Counter Zone

Put this zone info in a zone where you need to trigger something based on the number of players in that zone. Most immediate use would be a cage-match trap, where when enough players enter the zone, a triggered mover door shuts to trap the players in until someone dies. N men enter, N-1 men leave! To be used in Thunderdome level.

Triggerable Velocity Zone

Lets you set two zone velocities and switch between them with a trigger. Good for flushing toilets, wind tunnels, explosive decompression, etc.

Spawner

Ever needed to trigger something into existance? Like push a button to make a pickup appear? Or fire projectiles down a hall? Or fire a missle? Yes, you could use a ThingFactory and SpawnPoints, but they are flawed and limited. This trigger will spawn stuff for you, in just the ways you want: one at a time, a bunch at a time, unless and/or until triggered and can be stopped by untriggering. Try that with a ThingFactory. It's also directional, so you can aim stuff that's created.

Real Clocks

An AlarmClock, which you can set to fire a message and/or trigger an event. Make time-bombs for you maps!
And also a Mover, ClockHand, which rotates as minute, seconds, and/or hours tick by, so you can make real analog clocks in your level. Great for office clocks, clock towers, etc. Coming soon: timed alarms, so you can fire events, like sounds, every so often. Cuckoo clocks, Big Ben, etc.

Mods Under Construction

Countdown Mover

Turns the hand of a big clock as time ticks away in the game, in time-limited games. Could also count kills and/or captures. Place these in maps so players can see an analog version of how much game-time is left.

ICBM/Cruise Missle

Overrides the Warhead. ICBM would launch and fly in a parabolic arc to the target. Would like to override Translocator Target to make a Warhead target. Place that at ground zero, then launch your ICBM. Cruise Missle would follow bot paths to the target.

See also the Music page. Music which changes depending on what's happening in the game, the way it does in movies, to set the mood.

Tranquilizer Gun

A hit forces target player to Feign Death for an amount of time.
